Woolwich Arsenal apartment

Often we are commissioned to work on several pieces with a client; these jobs often end up being spread over 6 months or more and give us a real chance to create cohesive design themes within a property. We will carefully consider the flow of the house so things speak to each other yet still feel individual, we take note of paint colours, arwork and other fabrics or textures in a house before proceeding with a fabric search.

Margaret emailed me with seven pages of notes about her Grandmothers’ furniture that was about to be shipped over from The States to furnish her fantastic apartment in Woolwich Arsenal. The remit included full reupholstery and frame fixing of the antique pennsylvanian chairs and loveseats to a simple recover of her wonderfully comfy L-shaped sofa. We then went on to make curtains, scatter cushions, a bedspread and lastly a headboard of her very own design. It was a wonderful, intensely personal project and we had huge fun drawing together her playful interests and bringing her interpretations to life.
