Two torn and tatty art deco club chairs were rescued, stripped completely and then traditionally re-upholstered in this incredibly cosy and tactile 100% wool Bute waffle fabric.
The art deco motif on the back was researched specifically to echo the unusual leg panels. We found Abalone shell buttons and placed them with the back side showing to recreate the wood tones. Approximately 450 went onto each chair sewn in with gold thread to reflect light back between the soft wool squares. The wood panels were reconditioned and new brass castors fitted.
